The $91.3 million Dubbo Hospital redevelopment stages 1 and 2 is complete with patients moving in to our new clinical services building in late 2015 . The new building includes six digital operating theatres, an amazing new maternity and day surgery unit as well as a state-of-the-art central sterilising department.
In light of stages 3 & 4 now being committed by the Government, Health Infrastructure is carrying out additional planning work to determine if the renal unit should be incorporated as part the stages 3 & 4 new build, or remain in the existing space and be refurbished.
A lead design team has been appointed to undertake the consultation and planning for Stages 3 and 4 of our redevelopment and $150 million has been committed by the NSW Government to deliver it. The design team is currently working with the Western NSW Local Health District and Dubbo Hospital to undertake a detailed planning process to establish how facilities will be redeveloped and constructed to deliver the clinical services priorities.
The redevelopment of Dubbo Hospital is something the community and staff have been eagerly anticipating and we are well on the way to realising our dreams of a new and improved health service. Dubbo Hospital has a long and proud history of delivering the best health service available for the community and its surrounding areas and we need a health service that can adapt and grow with us.
